Fujifilm GFX 50S II Hands-On Review

Listen to the automated audio version of this article:

Now that we’ve been through the first impressions, it’s time for a proper Fujifilm GFX 50S II hands-on review. I just started to edit and put together all the GFX 50S II content I created. And it becomes obvious to me that this will become a series because there is a lot of content! So, episode 1 was the first impressions video. Episode 2 is this Fujifilm GFX 50S II hands-on review. Episode 3… You’ll see!

As you now know, Fujifilm approached me a few months ago to ask if I wanted to test the GFX 50S II before the global launch… So I took the camera to my hometown Florence and put it to a real test.
For this second episode, I took it out for some Street Photography. To compare the performance with the Mark I version I already showcased in 2 videos about a year ago.
In thisFujifilm GFX 50S II hands-on review, I talk about the experience of shooting with this new camera and show lots of photo samples.

The video

Here’s a mix of hyperlapse, POV, talking head, and photo samples…
I had the camera for a month, so I’ll be releasing a lot of content. Make sure you subscribe to not miss anything!

Quick recap on the GFX 50S II and lenses

I talk in detail about the camera in thisFujifilm GFX 50S II hands-on review.

The Fujifilm GFX 50S II is the latest addition to the GFX Medium Format family and is a rework of a previous model. The sensor is the same, but the body is the one that made its appearance with the GFX 100S. Something that is incredibly compact and light.
I also had the new kit lens that will be sold with it, the GF 35-70mm F4.5-5.6 WR. And here I show some photos taken with it, as well as the GF 50mm F3.5 R LM WR and the GF 110mm F2 R LM WR.
Paired with the GFX 50S II, these may be the perfect lenses to travel with. Even just the kit lens will be fine in the vast majority of scenarios.

More content will follow soon!

The GFX 50S II series

I created a few pieces of content while in Florence with this camera. Here are all the posts in this series:

  1. Fujifilm GFX 50S II First Impressions and Photo Samples
  2. Fujifilm GFX 50S II Hands-On Review (this post)
  3. Duomo Di Firenze, Photos and Guide | GFX 50S II
  4. Fujifilm GFX 50S II Street Photography POV
  5. A Scenic Vlog in Florence with Fujifilm GFX 50S II

And I created a playlist on YouTube with all the videos in the series. Including the ones with the old model as well. You can find it here.

I will add a last chapter for the long-term review in 1-2 years… If I remember to do it, lol
