This is the new blog of Fabien Butazzi aka @fabienb.

Of course I had to find a way to shoot one of my sun alignments in Istanbul as well! It is unfortunately a bit too late in the year to photograph the sunrise I wanted against Ayasofya but there are still a couple ideas I want to explore if the weather cooperates.
Here I found this alignment with the sun setting behind the Galata tower and to me it's interesting that this comes straight after the One Canada Square I did in London just before leaving (it was in my Stories but may find way to the feed too eventually) because it's pretty much the same pointy shape.

I met with a local photographer here @seforotti_travel who was taking the same shot, a guy that worships "Sunsetism" and got me hooked to it immediately 😄

So, yeah, cross your fingers tight for me and hope the weather will stay nice so I can shoot more of these before I go back home. Thanks.

If you thought those Sparkle filters could only be used for cityscape photography, it’s time to think again!
In fact, while walking around to shoot sample images for @hoyafilter_uk, I shot a bunch of Street photos as well. I took complete advantage of being able to photograph at wide-open Aperture to include people in fairy-like scenes with the Hoya Sparkle filters. Here’s a few.
It’s not something that you ordinarily see in Street Photography, and that to me is already a good reason to use these filters. They also soften neon lights so on top of the sparkle effect you can get a very cinematic look and feel.

Speaking of Street Photography, if everything goes well I will be flying to Istanbul tomorrow, 26 years after my first visit (gosh, I’ll probably meet photographers that were not even born when I went). There will be a Street Photo event and I will meet friends and spend some time savouring again what it’s like to be a tourist. And if you’re around and want to meet of course just DM me. And yes, hopefully, I’ll take good photos too.
So get ready for a few travel Stories coming your way very soon!
