A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, that's what photographing Comet Neowise over London (or anywhere else, really) is!
I'm not going to dive into too many descriptions of the event. I'm sure you all know about it by now. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event because the comet was only discovered last March, and it won't be visible again for another 7000 years (seven thousand!). You still have plenty of time to witness it, as it will be visible throughout July (in the Northern hemisphere). And if you live in a dark enough area, you'll even be able to see it with the naked eye. That's how bright it is!
A couple of nights ago, I was out with some friends to try and capture the passing of the comet over the London skyline. We went to a dark park somewhere South of London and filmed the whole thing. That's what my weekly video is about, Comet Neowise over London. And here are the links to my friends' Instagram profiles: Charles @bothhemispheres Michael @londonviewpoints (check his YouTube as well!) Henry @enbytv
I think I will try to do this again, for as long as the comet is visible and from different points of view. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate… But London being London, I would not be too sure. Somewhere lower than the hill we were, maybe. Even Central London if I find that the comet will be visible.
The Video
Here it is. Full of vlogging, timelapse videos and photos of Comet Neowise over London. And a surprise at the end… so watch it all!
Have you witnessed the comet yourselves? Let me know in the comments, and send me links to your photos/videos! If you are looking to learn some Astrophotography, I do offer this kind of workshops. There's one every month for full moon photography, for example. Being passionate about supermoons (as often seen in this blog), you can definitely leverage my knowledge there.

Despite the drama in many debates and even in some parts of the video below, I'm not entirely sure this could be the end of Street Photography… But maybe it is? These days, everyone is focused on AI and all that auto-generated images can do to disrupt the industry. But at a much higher level, governments are introducing or updating their privacy laws, tightening them to the point that Street Photography may...
Listen to the automated audio version of this article: 0:00 0:00 100 I have always been a massive fan of the Samyang 12mm F2 lens for the Fujifilm X Series. In fact, it was actually the very first lens I purchased for my old X-T1, aside from the kit lens!It is my primary go-to lens for Astrophotography, and I use it a lot for Architecture and Landscape. It was also the main...

But it looks like this is about to change as Hoya is investing more in marketing to push these. Since I moved to my new studio, quite a few agencies have approached me, offering collaborations. Among them is the professional video, photo and broadcast supplier Holdan who distributes...
