The brand new Fujifilm 56mm R WR F1.2 Mark II is finally here! It was just announced in the last Fujifilm X-Summit (and Fujikina ) in New York City together with the 40MP X-H2 camera. And I can now present the lens to you in my latest video…

I had the chance to play with the new Fujifilm 56mm for a few days, before launch. So, I took it to the streets of London day and night to put it to the test.

Had to publish this somewhere:
Me photographing a photographer photographing a photographer photographing a model…

And I must say I am impressed with the improvements on this new 56mm version. It feels faster and more accurate… The issues I had along the way were my own fault as I was forcing myself to shoot at F/1.2 and really test the lens, so I often missed for shortage of depth of field. Well, it's one of the challenges of wide-open shooting, so it wasn't much of a surprise.
But the lens itself excels in every aspect and now has Weather Resistance, so it becomes a perfect companion in the streets too, not just in the studio (as one of the best Fujifilm portrait lenses).

I only had the new Fujifilm 56mm for a couple of days, less time than I usually have for my tests, and with little notice. So I could not plan for portrait shooting outdoors or in my studio with a model. These would have been a great showcase for this lens. But I guess this is an excellent excuse to take the lens again and maybe run a thorough comparison with the old one.

It seems you all enjoy my gear reviews, so I'm planning to make more of them, even though it was not my initial plan for the channel. But if you ask for this, it is my duty to provide it to you. :)
More will come!

I am sad to have to send this new Fujifilm 56mm F1.2 Mark II back to Fuji, but I will rent it or even buy it and then make another comprehensive video.
I also need to show you a bit of my studio as I haven't done it yet and that would be the perfect chance. So subscribe and stay tuned!

Thanks for appreciating my reviews; it means a lot and pushes me to give you more.
Cheers.
