Retouch4me Suite

https://retouch4.me/products/productstore?promocode=FABIENB

This is a recent partnership. The team reached out to me a few weeks ago to collaborate, but I knew their plugins already and I have been more than happy to reach an agreement with them. With my discount code, you get an extra 5% off on top of the existing deals.
And you can still use the code FABIENB when Black Friday ends, to get 20% everything.

  • Promo Duration: November 29th but more offers available
  • 35% off everything with the code FABIENB

TopazLabs

https://topazlabs.com/ref/1590/

This is another company I mention quite a while on these pages. During Black Friday 2024, all their applications are discounted, over 50% off to be precise.

SmallRig

https://smallrig.com/r/VLCOHC

SmallRig is always a favourite of mine. To the extent that when I preordered my Fujifilm X-T4, I also ordered the SmallRig cage even before I received the camera. Can't go wrong with them.

Ulanzi

Remember the tripod I reviewed on YouTube? This was only one of the many amazing products that Ulanzi offers. You should check them out!

Pro Tips for Smart Shopping

  1. Consider your workflow needs before purchasing
  2. Look for bundle deals that complement your existing tools
  3. Focus on long-term value rather than just the discount percentage

Black Friday can feel overwhelming, especially in the photography industry, where both gear and software come with significant price tags. While the discounts are tempting, it's crucial to approach these sales with a clear strategy.

First, take inventory of your current workflow bottlenecks. Are you spending too much time on skin retouching? Is your current tripod limiting your creativity? Understanding your actual needs helps resist the allure of flashy deals on items you rarely use. Remember, a 70% discount on a tool that doesn't serve your photography style is still 100% wasted money.

Create a priority list well before Black Friday. Photography tools and software often have multiple tiers and bundles. Having clear priorities helps you quickly identify which deals align with your needs when time-limited offers appear. For software especially, consider the long-term value – an AI-powered tool that saves you hours of editing each week might be worth a higher upfront investment than a cheaper alternative with basic features.

Research prices ahead of time. Many retailers artificially inflate prices before Black Friday to make discounts appear more substantial. Keep track of regular prices for items on your wishlist in the months leading up to November. Photography gear tends to hold its value well, so if you spot a genuine 30-40% discount on quality equipment, that's often a solid deal.

Don't overlook the value of bundles, especially for software suites. Companies like Skylum and Topaz Labs often package complementary tools together during Black Friday. However, be realistic about whether you'll use all components of a bundle – sometimes purchasing just the tools you need separately makes more financial sense, even with a smaller discount.

Consider the timing of your purchases. While Black Friday offers attractive deals, many photography brands also run significant promotions during other events like their product launch anniversaries or photography holidays. If you miss a deal now, another opportunity will likely come around – don't let the fear of missing out drive you to overspend.

Lastly, factor in learning curves and integration time. New tools and gear require time to master. Be realistic about how many new items you can effectively incorporate into your workflow at once. Sometimes, it's better to invest in fewer, carefully chosen pieces that you'll fully utilize rather than multiple bargains that end up collecting digital (or physical) dust.
