Istanbul Travel Guide and Photo Book (Hardcover)

£47,00

Tags: , ,

This Istanbul photobook includes more than 130 photos, carefully sequenced over 150 pages, with shooting info, stories, and places from my recent trip to Istanbul. It combines stunning photography with expert travel insights. This is the perfect companion to my travel video on YouTube about the same trip.

Istanbul captured my heart in ways I hadn’t expected and this book is my attempt to share that experience with you. I am sure the many high-res photos will inspire you to pick up your camera and visit this splendid city.

With its mix of cultures and religions and being one of the largest cities in the world, there is always a lot to see and do in Istanbul. For example, the Grand Bazaar is the world’s largest and oldest covered market, with over 60 streets and 4000 shops. And this publication has a dedicated Bazaar section and many more images to inspire you.

More details and info are below.
This Istanbul photobook is printed in facilities in the UK, the US, Australia, or Germany and shipped from these countries.
If you prefer the digital experience (or would like both versions, thank you very much), the book is also available in digital form.

Purchasing my publications, digital products and prints is the most direct way to support me and my work. Every item sold here helps me raise funds to create even more photos, videos and products specifically for you.

Finally available in print: hold the beauty of Istanbul in your hands

After countless messages asking, “When can I get a physical copy of the Istanbul photobook?” I've finally found the right print partner. Someone who understands what a photo book should be, keeping the price affordable. The digital version has been brilliant, but there's something rather special about turning actual pages, isn't there?

This physical photo book showcases over 130 carefully selected images across 150 pages, capturing Istanbul's magical blend of East and West. Each photograph comes with the technical bits for my fellow camera enthusiasts (shooting information, camera settings, etc). You will also find personal stories to transport you to the moments when I pressed the shutter.
It's the perfect companion to my Istanbul travel video on YouTube.

I've wrestled with the sustainability question of print vs digital. While the digital version remains the more environmentally friendly option (and continues to receive lifetime updates), there's an undeniable permanence to print that resonates with many of us. A book doesn't require a charged battery or an internet connection. It sits on your shelf, ready to transport you to Istanbul whenever you need an escape.

Istanbul captured my heart in ways I hadn't expected. The call to prayer echoing across rooftops at dawn, the steam rising from a tulip-shaped glass of çay handed to me by a shopkeeper, the way sunlight dances across the Bosphorus at the magic hour. These moments changed how I see photography's capability to capture not just visuals but feelings.

This Istanbul photobook is my attempt to share that experience with you. Whether planning your trip, reminiscing about past visits, or simply exploring the world through photography, I hope these images transport you.

For the collector and the passionate

Let's talk about the elephant in the room: printing a photo book properly isn't cheap. When I first inquired, a known publisher quoted £106.80 per copy (plus shipping!) for my desired specification. After much negotiation and finding the right partner, I've managed to bring that down considerably. Though it remains an investment piece rather than an impulse purchase.

This book isn't a quick print-on-demand product: each publication is carefully checked before shipping to ensure it meets my standards. As someone who's been disappointed by poorly printed photography books in the past, I promised myself I wouldn't put my name on anything less than excellent.

This hardcover edition features:

  • Museum-quality photographic paper that renders colours exactly as I saw them
  • Carefully sequenced images that take you on a narrative journey through the city
  • Location details for fellow photographers planning their own Istanbul adventure

Notes on this printed Istanbul photobook

This book is printed in facilities in the UK, the US, Australia, or Germany and shipped from these countries.

If you live outside these countries, additional shipping fees may apply. So, if shipping becomes too expensive, or if you prefer the digital experience (or would like both versions, thank you very much), the PDF version remains available with all its advantages: lifetime updates, immediate access, and a more gentle price point.

The print is handled by an external service. Therefore, I will not be able to issue refunds. However, I can liaise with the provider and help if you ever encounter any issues.
Each book is printed to order, with a typical production time of 3-5 days plus shipping. Like any quality photo book, keep away from direct sunlight to preserve the colour accuracy that was so important to me.

Purchasing my publications, digital products and prints is the most direct way to support me and my work. Every item sold here helps me raise funds to create even more photos, videos and products specifically for you.
Thank you!
