As you may know, I’ve been chasing this epic London sunrise holy grail timelapse for about a month. To the point, it had almost become an obsession.
And of course, it was never guaranteed that I would get it! But the efforts finally paid off.

You can find all about it in my latest YouTube video… And I promise you: it’s going to be EPIC!
Also, is the Fujifilm X-T4 simply the best camera for time-lapse photography? Quite possibly…

So, after having spent countless mornings waking up at 5am trying to capture this sunrise, this was the day I was about to stay in bed.
I had had a rough sleep and frankly, after the disappointment of the previous times, I was giving up. I’m so glad I forced myself to go! Not only I got my time-lapse, but the sunrise was also probably the most epic I have seen from here! Unbelievable.
Also, it was almost completely sunless! The sky was painted in all these colours without the sun actually showing up, if not quickly through a narrow gap. Timelapse Pros have told me this is a pretty rare event.

There were quite a few photographers (socially distanced), but I was the first to arrive, long before everybody else, which allowed me to capture a striking blood-red cloud above Tower Bridge.
And I was also the last to leave. even though there were still colours in the sky after 2 and a half hours.

All to finally get this timelapse.

The Video

Here I walk you through the journey and tell you about my setup and how I shot the epic London sunrise time-lapse (Holy Grail night to day).

Also, yet another studio setup.
